The lyre is a string instrument known for its use in Greek classical antiquity and later periods. Similar in appearance to a small harp, the fundamental difference is that the strings enter directly into the hollow body of the harp, whereas on a lyre the strings pass over a bridge, which transmits the vibrations of the strings to the body of the instrument – just as on a modern guitar. In addition, most of the traditional harps use nylon strings, whereas lyres usually uses steel strings. In terms of timbre, the lyre still has the ethereal and long-lasting tone of a harp, but it sounds more ancient with a Medieval deeper tone. The sound of steel strings adds a mysterious and unique beauty to this instrument.

In case you have changed your mind about a purchase, or if you are dissatisfied with a product, please email aurasoundsuk@gmail.com and complete the returns form that will be sent to you. Please ensure the product is undamaged and in the original packaging and return to us by insured mail to cover liability in case the item is not received. You will be responsible for posting back to the address given on the returns form. Unless the item was damaged in transit prior to delivery, the original postage costs will not be refunded when processing your refund.
For items that are in stock, we aim to despatch your order as soon as possible, usually between 1 to 2 working days of receiving it. Items that are not in stock can take up to 3 weeks to be made and dispatched (usually within 2 weeks). All orders are sent tracked, you will receive your tracking number in the order despatch email and the package will require a signature. UK orders are shipped by Hermes delivery service and international orders are sent by Royal Mail.
